ABOUT ISAM

The Ice Skating Association of Malaysia (ISAM) is a not-for- profit National Sports Association (NSA) founded in 2000 and staffed by volunteers to serve the needs of Malaysia's growing community of recreational and competitive ice skaters. We are sanctioned by the Sports Commissioner Office of Malaysia and are also a member of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM), the International Skating Union (ISU) and the Asian Skating Union (ASU).

OUR MISSION

ISAM is the national governing body for figure and speed skating in Malaysia, providing recreational and competitive programs and athlete development pathways as well as organizing local and international competitions, seminars and clinics for all levels of athletes, coaches and officials in order to promote, nurture and develop the sport. ISAM is dedicated to developing personal excellence and sportsmanship though participation in skating.

OUR VISION

To cultivate an ice skating culture in Malaysia, to participate in major international competitions within the next decade and develop Malaysia as a center of excellence in ice sports in South East Asia, while providing opportunities for all (from toddlers to seniors) to learn to skate in a safe and fun environment.

NEW CONSTITUTION

The new constitution’s terms and conditions are in tandem with the Sports Development Act 1997, Sports Development (Amendment) Act 2018 together with Sports Development (Licensing) Regulations 2019.
The new ISAM logo as seen above symbolizes the following; - the red “ISAM” font and the red stripe are to show the arts and cultural design together with Malaysian’s fighting spirit. The old blade is to show the history of ice-skating in Malaysia. The crescent and stars symbolize our belief, sovereignty, faith, and equality. The blue stripes represent the symbol of unity.
ISAM’s direction towards membership save and except for certain conditions, ISAM encourages membership through Association and/or Clubs. Kindly contact the President or Secretary-General for further advise.
